Google Chrome for the holidays: Mac, Linux and extensions in beta
Google Chrome for Linux (Beta)
At Google, most engineers use Linux machines, so we certainly heard loud and clear how much they wanted Google Chrome for Linux. Just like Google Chrome for Windows and Mac, we focused on speed, stability and security, but we also wanted a high-performance browser that integrated well with the Linux ecosystem. This includes tight integration with native GTK themes, updates that are managed by the standard system package manager, and many other features that fit in natively with the operating system where possible.
Google Chrome for Linux in various GTK themes
WOW this new Chrome beta for Linux is so fast on my Ubuntu Laptop.
If some more extensions are available, its bye bye Firefox :D
Official Google Blog: What is a browser?
As it turns out, my mom's not the only one who is confused about web browsers — even though the browser is one of the most-used programs on computers. For my mom, my friends and everyone else who may be wondering about web browsers, I created a one minute video to help explain what they're all about about:
Just asked in the office a few people if they know what is a browser, no one knows what a browser is. The second question was which browser do they use, answer "Don't know". Next I asked them if they know what Google Chrome is, the answer was "Google what?".
Google Has A Solution For Internet Explorer: Turn It Into Chrome
People hate IE6; they’ve made that abundantly clear on the web. Unfortunately, plenty of people are still stuck using it for reasons such as their work not letting them upgrade. So Google is doing something about it.
Chrome Frame
is a new browser plug-in developed by Google to give you a Chrome browsing experience inside of Internet Explorer. Let me restate that slightly to make it more clear: Chrome Frame turns IE into Chrome.
Cool give some chrome to Internet explorer and evolve IE into a real browser :)
I'm wondering why people should do this, just install Google Chrome!
